About Us
The story behind Kast
Our Mission
We believe that the best tools for work shouldn't be tied to a single device. Kast was born from a simple frustration: why can't I use my powerful desktop applications from my tablet on the couch, or from my phone while traveling?
Our mission is to eliminate the boundaries between devices, letting you access your favorite applications from anywhere, with the same natural interaction you'd have sitting at your desk.
What We Do
Kast is a remote application streaming platform that captures individual application windows from your computer and streams them to any device. Unlike traditional remote desktop solutions, Kast:
- Streams windows, not screens - Share exactly what you need, maintain privacy for everything else
- Translates touch to mouse - Use intuitive gestures instead of awkward mouse emulation
- Works everywhere - One app for iOS, Android, and web browsers
- Prioritizes security - End-to-end encryption with zero data retention
Our Values
Privacy First
We built Kast with a zero-knowledge architecture. Your streams are encrypted end-to-end, and we never store your content.
Performance Obsessed
Every millisecond matters. Our daemon is written in Rust for maximum efficiency, and we're constantly optimizing latency.
User Focused
We build features that solve real problems. Every decision starts with the question: how does this help our users?
Transparent
Simple pricing, no hidden fees, honest communication. We respect your time and intelligence.
The Team
Kast is built by a small, focused team of engineers and designers who are passionate about creating tools that just work. We're remote-first (naturally) and use Kast daily to build Kast.
